“Shin Tae-yong’s successor? It’s ridiculous” Park Hang-seo, head-on refutation of the Indonesian director theory

 Head coach Park Hang-seo (64) explained the rumors about the appointment of the Indonesian national team coach.

The Vietnam national soccer team, led by coach Park Hang-seo, lost 0-1 to Thailand on the 16th in the second leg of the final of the 2022 ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Mitsubishi Electric Cup (Mitsubishi Cup). Vietnam lost the first leg (2-2 draw) and the second leg 2-3 on aggregate and won the runner-up. 

Head coach Park Hang-seo, who has led the Vietnamese national team since 2018, has completed all five years of companionship. Director Park’s contract period ends on January 31st. Park Hang-seo’s successor has been appointed Philip Troussier.

According to Vietnamese media ‘Jing News’, director Park Hang-seo said on his SNS, “There is absolutely no such thing. Rumors are not true.”

Coach Park Hang-seo, while contemplating his next move, said he had no intention of taking up a managerial position in Korea. He said, “I will do anything to help Korean football, but it is not a return to coaching. There are plenty of professional juniors. Vietnam has a poor youth football infrastructure, so I want to play a role in helping it.”

Director Park is expected to stay in Hanoi until early February and return to Korea after taking care of himself.
