Samsung’s No. 1 shortstop dislocates shoulder, undergoes MRI today…hopefully nothing serious

Samsung Lions shortstop Lee Jae-hyun, who has been showing off his Kim Ha-star presence, has been replaced due to shoulder pain. He will undergo a medical examination at the club’s designated hospital on Thursday. The team hopes that Lee Jae-hyun will be fine as he is an important part of the team.

Lee Jae-hyun started as the No. 8 shortstop in the away game against SSG Landers at SSG Landers Field in Incheon on March 13.

Making his first start since joining Samsung, he faced leadoff hitter Choo Shin-soo on a 0B-1S count and threw a two-pitch changeup, but was greeted with a double to left-center field.

With the bases loaded and two outs, Lee Jae-hyun made a leaping catch of Choi Ji-hoon’s 3-for-3 grounder, and despite feeling excruciating pain in his left shoulder, he threw to second base to retire Shin-soo Choo. The bases were loaded with no outs.

Lee Jae-hyun, who made a masterful defense to lighten Widener’s shoulder in a desperate situation, lay on the ground and complained of pain. Lee was helped to the dugout by a trainer.

Second baseman Kim Dong-jin moved to shortstop and third baseman Kang Kang-ul moved to second base. Substitute Kim Ho-jae started at third base. “He dislocated his shoulder while fielding, but it’s now back in place,” a club official said. “It doesn’t look like it’s too bad, so he’s getting icing treatment and will have an MRI tomorrow (Nov. 14) in Daegu.”

Lee is the only player on the team to play all 100 games this season. Despite batting just 2-for-4, he hit double-digit home runs (10) for the first time in his career and broke his own single-season records for hits (82), RBIs (41), runs scored (40), and stolen bases (5).

Manager Park Jin-man said of Jae-hyun, “The offense goes through cycles, but the defense is more stable and relaxed than at the beginning of the season. It’s his first time playing full-time, and he needs to take care of himself on the bench so that he can manage his physical fitness well.”메이저사이트

Lee Jae-hyun, who said before the season that he wanted to play more than 100 games as a shortstop, said that after achieving his first goal, “I hope to play the rest of the games without injury since I haven’t missed any games so far.”

Samsung finished the three-game weekend series with a 1-2 record, losing 0-4 to SSG. Lee Jae-hyun’s injury will be felt even more than the Luzhou series. Here’s hoping it’s nothing major.
