Lotte’s ‘no-captain’ Ahn Chi-hong quietly goes 3-for-3
By Lee Hyung-joo Reporter = Ahn Chi-hong (33), the “An captain,” has been playing quietly.
The Lotte Giants defeated the KIA Tigers 7-1 in the 2023 Shinhan Bank Solar KBO League at Sajik Baseball Stadium in Busan on Nov. 11. Lotte is now in seventh place with a record of 46 wins and 50 losses in 96 games.
Lotte continued the good momentum it had established on the 10th. All other games were canceled due to rain on the 10th. In their only game against the Kiwoom Heroes at the Gocheok Dome, Lotte had won 12-8 with an early batting lead. On this day, they continued to hit well and won their second straight game.
Ahn Chi-hong was at the center of it all. After going 5-for-3 with a home run in Game 10, Ahn’s bat was hot again today. He exploded for four hits, three doubles and one RBI.
In particular, Ahn played a revolutionary role in the first inning with his game-winning home run. In the bottom of the first inning, after a 10-pitch battle with KIA starter Thomas Pannoni, Ahn hit a solo shot to left field. It proved to be the game-winning hit.
Ahn has been leading the team off the field this season as captain of Lotte, but he’s also been doing a great job on the field. The hard-hitting Ahn is batting .299 and is approaching the triple digits.메이저사이트
After a strong start to the season, Lotte went downhill after the midseason. They are looking to make a big comeback for the playoffs. It’s not impossible if they continue on their current path, and captain Ahn Chi-hong is at the center of it.
