‘9 billion hitter’ Chae Eun-seong, will he lead Hanwha’s lowest escape? “I came for that”

“This year should be better than last year. That is why I came here.”

Hanwha Eagles Chae Eun-seong departed from Incheon International Airport on the 29th to participate in the spring camp in Arizona, USA. In an interview before his departure, he said, “I think there are a lot of expectations. I have high expectations because the weather is good for the first time in a while,” he said, expressing his feelings about going to spring camp.

Chae Eun-seong, who joined LG in 2009, played only for LG until last season, recording a batting average of 209.7 (992 hits in 3337 bats), 96 homers, 595 RBIs, and an OPS of .801 in 1006 games. This winter, he moved his team for the first time after signing a six-year free agent contract with Hanwha for a total of 9 billion won.

Chae Eun-seong said, “It’s the first time I’m going to spring camp wearing a uniform other than LG. The resolution is the same every year. The new environment is just a little awkward. But he’s all the same athlete, so if we train together and have a lot of good times, I think we’ll get along quickly. I’m not worried about that part.” He continued, “I originally wore a uniform with stripes, but it felt a little empty because there were no stripes. It feels like something is missing,” he laughed.

Chae Eun-seong, who took on a more important role at Hanwha, said, “All baseball players have a burden. If you go out as a main player, the responsibility naturally increases. He’s the same as any player, so it doesn’t matter too much. I always played baseball with the mindset that there was no place for me at LG. It is the same at Hanwha,” he said.

Regarding the fact that he moved away from Jamsil Stadium, a pitcher-friendly stadium, and came to Hanwha Life Insurance Eagles Park, Chae Eun-seong said, “It doesn’t change much just because the stadium has changed. However, since it is the largest stadium in Jamsil Stadium, I think there will be an effect in that area.” 스포츠토토

He said, “It is best to prepare for the season without injury. There is nothing else. Chae Eun-seong, who revealed the plan for the spring camp, said, “I think I will prepare as usual,” adding, “When I was at LG, I thought that every year I would be better than the previous year. Numerically, there is no such thing as ‘I will hit a few home runs’. I think if you do your best, the numerical part will follow on its own.”

Hanwha succeeded in strengthening their strength this winter by recruiting Chae Eun-seong, Lee Tae-yang, and Oh Seon-jeon. As such, expectations for his performance this season are high. Chae Eun-seong said, “I start every year with the expectation that I can make good grades. This year should be better than last year. That’s why I came here. We have to do our best to live up to that goal. I’m going to start with a good mood,” he said, promising to contribute to improving Hanwha’s performance.
